காலை ஒன்பதுக்கு அனைவரும் தயாராக ஓட்டலின் வாசலில் போட்டோக்கள் எடுத்து முடித்து மினி பஸ் இருக்கைகளில் சுழற்சி முறையில் இடம் மாறி அமர்ந்தனர். சுற்றுலா கைட் ஜகந்நாத் என்னை நாங்கள் அமர்ந்திருந்த மினி பஸ். கேப்டனாக அறிவித்தார். புதிய பொறுப்பு நன்றாகவே இருந்தது.

முதல் விசிட் திம்பு மலைத் தொடரின் உச்சியில் இருக்கும் புத்தர் கோயில. மிக உயரமான புத்தரின் சிலை நகரின் பல பகுதிகளிலிலிருந்து காண முடிந்தது. கோயிலின் உள்ளே பக்தர்கள் வேண்டிக் கொண்டு காணிக்கை செலுத்திய, புத்தரின் சிறிய உருவச் சிலைகள், வெண்கலத்தாலானவை, ஆயிரத்திற்கும் மேலான எண்ணிக்கையில் வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தன. புத்த மதத் தலைவர்களின் உருவங்கள், மந்திரச் சக்கரங்கள் சுவர்களிலும், கேன்வாஸ்களிலும் வரையப் பட்டிருந்தன. வெளிச் சுற்றில் பலவித கடவுளரின் சிலைகள் தங்க நிறப் பூச்சுடன்.

உள்ளே போட்டோ எடுக்க அனுமதியில்லை. வெளியே வந்து பலவிதங்களில போட்டோக்கள் எடுத்த பிறகு மீண்டும் பயணித்து டக்னி என்ற பூடானின் அடையாளமான மிருகக் காட்சி சாலை விசிட், #300 கொடுத்து உள்ளே நுழைந்து, சுற்றிப் பார்க்க வென்று அமைக்கப் பட்ட மேடைகளின் ஊடே நடந்து சென்ற போது, முதலில் காணப்பட்ட மிருகம் டக்னி என்ற ஆடும் பைசனும் சேரந்த உருவத்தில் . மான்கள், பல உருவ மாடுகள் என மிகச் சிறிய zoo, பறவைகள் எதுவும் தென்படவில்லை புறாக் கூட்டம் தவிர.

துர்க்கை அம்மன் கோயில் விசிட் அடுத்தது. அமைதியான சிறிய கோயில் கரிய நிறச் சிலைகள் பல கடவுளரதும். வெளிப் பிரகாரத்தில் சிவ லிங்கமும், நந்தியும். அனைவரும் லிங்கத்திற்கு நீர் அபிஷேகம் செய்த பிறகு புறப்பட்டு கைவினைப் பொருட்கள் செய்யும் பயிற்சிக் கூடத்திற்குச் சென்று, ஒவ்வொரு அறையாகப் பார்வையிட்ட போது, பைன் மரத்தில் செதுக்கப் பட்ட சிலை வடிவங்கள், முக மூடிகள், வண்ணத் துணிகளில் வடிவமைக்கப் பட்ட பூடானின் பிரத்யேக ஆடைகள் மற்றும் மதம் சார்ந்த துணி வகைகள் என மாணவ மாணவிகள் மும்முரமாக பயிற்சியில் ஈடுபட்டிருந்தனர். மழைத்தூறல் தொடங்கியிருந்தது. மதிய உணவை முடித்து டெக்ஸ்டைல் காட்சியகத்திற்கு போக வேண்டாமென அனைவரும் கூறியதால் ஓட்டலுக்குத் திரும்பும் வழியில் ஷாப்பிங் செய்வதற்கு சிலர் இறக்கி விடப்பட்டு , பஸ் ஓட்டலை அடைந்தது. மழை வேகமாகப் பெய்யத் தொடங்கியது. சூடாகத் தேநீர் அருந்திய பிறகு அவரவர் அறைகளுக்குத் திரும்பி அவரவரின் சொந்தக் கதைகள் பரிமாற்றங்களுடன் இன்றைய தினம் முடிவடைந்தது. மறுநாள் காலை எட்டரை மணிக்கு ஓட்டலைக் காலி செய்து , புனாகா நோக்கிப் பயணம் என்ற அறிவுப்புடன் உறங்கச் சென்றோம்.

**Bhutan – April 18, 2025**

By 9 AM, everyone was ready and gathered at the hotel entrance. After a quick photo session, we boarded our mini-bus, taking different seats from the previous day to mix things up. Our tour guide Jagannath announced me as the captain of the day for our group — a new and interesting responsibility.

**First Stop: The Great Buddha Dordenma**

Our first visit was to the majestic Buddha temple, located atop the hills of Thimphu. The massive statue of Buddha can be seen from various parts of the city. Inside the temple, we witnessed rows and rows of smaller bronze Buddha statues — numbering over a thousand — each offered by devotees. The interiors were adorned with paintings and murals of Buddhist leaders and symbolic prayer wheels, spread across the walls and canvases. Outside, golden-hued statues of various deities added to the spiritual atmosphere. Photography inside was not permitted, but once we stepped out, we captured the beauty of the place from multiple angles.

**Second Stop: Motithang Takin Preserve**

Our next visit was to the Motithang Takin Preserve — home to Bhutan’s national animal, the Takin. Entry was BTN 300 per person. As we walked through the neatly maintained paths, the first animal we spotted was the unusual-looking Takin — a strange mix between a goat and a bison. The small zoo also housed deer and a few mountain goats, but there were no birds in sight, apart from a flock of pigeons.

**Third Stop: Durga Temple**

Our next destination was a peaceful, modest Durga temple. The black stone idols of various Hindu gods stood quietly, with a Shiva Lingam and a statue of Nandi in the outer courtyard. Everyone performed a traditional water offering (Abhishekam) to the Lingam before we moved on.

**Fourth Stop: Handicraft Training Center**

We visited a handicraft training center, where students were engrossed in their work across different rooms. There were beautiful wood carvings made from pine, traditional masks, vibrant Bhutanese garments, and religious textiles. A light drizzle had started by then, adding to the serene charm of the surroundings.

**Wrapping Up the Day**

After lunch, we decided to skip the textile museum visit and headed back towards the hotel. On the way, a few of us were dropped off for some quick shopping. The rest reached the hotel just as the rain intensified. We ended the day with a hot cup of tea, relaxing in our rooms and sharing stories with each other.

With plans to check out by 8:30 AM the next morning and head toward Punakha, we tucked ourselves in for a good night’s sleep.
